Originally
built in the 1930's by the Civilian Conservation Corps, this facility
went through a restoration period and was used to rededicate the
park on Veteran's Day. This has been the home of Parks and
Rec.'s Concert in the Parks series. It is equipped with electrical
outlets and lights. |

Recently
remolded in 2007, the Scout Cabin is located next to the Garret
Animal Shelter on the south side of the Park. The cabin was built
in the 1930's and has been used by both the Boy Scout and the Girl
Scout troops in our area. The facility is available for rental for
small meetings or gatherings. |

Battles, retired teacher from the Fulton Public Schools, spent
many years volunteering his time and effort on this park. He started
volunteering his FFA classes for community service, and then continued
on his own after his retirement from the school system. He worked
very hard to help clear picnic and hiking areas and his efforts
are greatly appreciated. The entrance of the park has been dedicated
as: "Jeff Battles Drive" in his memory.
