ITEMS THAT CAN BE RECYCLED
BY CURBSIDE COLLECTION
BY THE CITY OF FULTON
To
update the items that can be recycled are:
- Aluminum-
cam, door and window frames, etc. Rinse cans, Steel (tin) can, and
Metal lids, Rinse. Glass: clear, brown and green. Rinse. Recycle lids.
Plastic, Number 1 and 2 only. Rinse. Discard lids in trash. Plastic
grocery bags all colors. Place the cans, glass and plastic together
in transparent or colored plastic bag and label them "recyclables".
- Paper:
News print and inserts (colored or plain), bond, computer (with or
without staples), paper sacks, magazines, telephone books and any
other type of books. NO tissue or napkin, pizza boxes or the like.
Tie with twine of place in transparent or colored plastic bags and
label them "recyclables".
- Cardboard:
Corrugated and sheet, cereal boxes, soda and beer cartons, etc.
- Break
down boxes and tic together with twine. Place paper in bags or tie
with twine.
- Used
motor oil: must be only Oil, no contaminants such as thinners Solvents,
antifreeze etc, in oil will be accepted. Oil must be in plastic containers
with screw on lids. No glass containers will be accepted.
Note! - If your recycling and trash days are the same, place the recyclables
in a different location than next to your trash.
- Brass
and copper can be recycled if it is in a compact amount where one
person can carry it.
- We
cannot accept ceramics, plate or flat glass, tires and batteries.
- We
cannot accept cardboard, napkins, paper plates or any such
items that have been touched by food.
The Fulton Freecycle(TM)Network
is open to all who want to "recycle" that special something
rather than throw it away. Whether it's a chair, a fax machine, a piano
or an old door, feel free to post it. Or maybe you're looking to acquire
something yourself, just post a "wanted" request. Nonprofit
groups are encouraged to participate too!
One
constraint: everything posted must be free, legal, and appropriate for
all ages.
